Privacy notice

Last updated: 24 October 2026

This notice explains how Ellul Solutions Ltd uses personal information about the people it works with and contacts in its data licensing and company sales work, and on this website. Worklanded and Darscover, which Ellul Solutions also runs, have their own notices on worklanded.com and darscover.com.

Who we are

Ellul Solutions Ltd is the controller of the personal information described here. We are registered in England and Wales, company number 17364530, with our registered office at 14 Warfield Crescent, Waterlooville, England, PO7 7JP. We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office under reference ZC282142. For anything about your information, email joe@ellul.solutions.

What we hold

We work with businesses, so what we hold is mostly business contact information about the people at them:

  • names, job titles, the company you work for, and business email addresses and phone numbers
  • what you tell us in emails, calls and meetings, and our notes of them
  • the details in agreements, invoices and payment records
  • for people who enquired about licensing their data or selling their company, what they told us in their enquiry

We don't ask for sensitive information, such as health or ethnicity, and we ask you not to send it. This website uses no analytics and sets no cookies of its own.

Where it comes from

  • From you, when you contact us, speak to us or sign an agreement with us.
  • From ET Labs Ltd, a company under the same ownership, when you asked about licensing your data through a website it runs and we then took the conversation forward with you.
  • From public business sources, such as company websites, professional networking profiles and company registers, when we look for the right person at a company that may want to license data, invest or buy.

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

What we doLawful basis
Run an agreement with you or your company, and take the steps you asked for before onePerforming a contract, or our legitimate interest in working with the company you represent
Contact people at businesses about licensing data or a company sale, and follow upOur legitimate interest in running and promoting our business. You can object at any time and we will stop
Keep accounting, tax and contract recordsLegal obligation
Bring or defend a legal claimOur legitimate interest in protecting our rights

If you'd rather we didn't contact you, just tell us and we won't. We keep a note of your email address so we don't contact you again by mistake.

Who we share it with

  • The other side of a deal. We don't tell a data owner or a company which buyers we are speaking to, or tell buyers who it is, until it has agreed terms with us. After that, we share the names and contact details each side needs to agree the deal.
  • ET Labs Ltd, which is under the same ownership, where it passed us your enquiry and needs to know what happened to it.
  • Our service providers, who hold information for us under contract: website, email and document hosting, internal messaging, electronic signature, banking and accounting, and AI tools that help us organise our records and draft messages.
  • Our professional advisers, such as lawyers and accountants.
  • Authorities, where the law requires it.

Transfers outside the UK

The companies we work with are in many countries, including the United States, the European Union and Latin America. Sending your details to the other side of a deal you asked us to help with is necessary for that work. Where our service providers hold information outside the UK, we use the safeguards UK law provides, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK-US Data Bridge.

How long we keep it

  • Information about a deal or agreement: at least six years after the agreement ends, as tax and contract records require. After that we review it, and keep it only while it is still relevant to our work.
  • Information about people we have been in touch with but have no deal with: kept while it is relevant to our work. We review it two years after our last contact, and either keep it, noting why, or delete it. We delete it sooner if you ask.
  • A note that you asked us not to contact you: for as long as we send business emails, so we keep to it.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your information, to correct it, to delete it, to limit how we use it or to move it to someone else. You can object to how we use it, and you can always stop us contacting you about our services. Email joe@ellul.solutions and we will answer within a month. We don't make decisions about you by automated means alone.

If you're unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
